What degrees are needed to apply?

Typical applicants include highly qualified pre-doctoral candidates, post-doctoral fellows, and junior faculty. Applicants with advanced degrees typically have PhDs or MD. To have an idea of where people are in their careers when joining a cohort, please refer to previous cohort bios: https://brownhealthcjrt.org/cjrt-cohorts/.

Who counts as junior faculty?

We’re looking for early-career faculty, typically Assistant Professors who have not obtained independent funding. These are typically faculty members who are planning a career development award application, or faculty who already have a career development award and are planning the next phases of their research funding (e.g., transition to R-series funding).

What is a letter of good standing?

A letter of good standing is a document from your institution that confirms your stated position within the institution. It can be a promotion letter, or a brief memo from someone within your institution stating that you are in good standing.

Can people on a green card apply?

Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or a noncitizen national of the U.S.

Who can serve as a reference? What is the role of references?

Your references can be anyone who can speak to your professional qualifications as they relate to the CJRT. References are required to submit letters of support by the application deadline. They will receive an email after you submit the application with instructions for submission.
